Patrick's
Patrick’s is one of the most welcome additions
to the Poole social scene. Pat – a proper local
lad – has
been on the circuit in one way or another for years and
has combined all of his local knowledge of the requirements
of the eaters and drinkers in this area to create a brilliant
all round venue.
Situated in the old HSBC bank in Ashley Cross (an area that has really boomed
on the socialising front lately) his landmark building dominates the main drag
that’s Bournemouth Road – on a Friday or Saturday make your plans
early as Patrick’s fills up at great speed,
and also on Thursday night when regular live music entertains the clientele.
The bar/restaurant opened in June 2006, caters for up to 100 diners if you include
the bar area and offers a modern ‘brasserie menu’ the atmosphere
is exceptional. One can enjoy coffee from 10am then a straightforward menu comprising
fresh and local ingredients; for example smoked pigeon salad to start then pork
belly pressé, creole lamb or the chateaubriand to share. Much thought
went into the design of Patrick’s, and this is reflected throughout
all of the menus and the exceptional vegetarian choices.
