With two international airports, a superb rail network
and road access from the M3 and M27, the two counties
are truly at the heart of the South. Media services
support travel and communications in the area. Dorset's
2CR FM broadcasts regular travel news and weather forecasts
alongside today's best music mix, find 2CR FM on 102.3FM.
Wilts and Dorset buses network across the region, and
Waterloo by train is merely 1hr 50 from Bournemouth
Station. Wight Link and Red Funnel Ferries both run
regular services to the Isle of Wight, and for a break
in your car journey to the West, use the Sandbanks chain
ferry, (a short trip to Shell Bay but great fun nevertheless),
then on to Corfe, Swanage and Wareham. For answers to
visitors' most complicated questions contact your local
Tourism Information Centre.
Other services for visitors in the summer include free
pop shows, French Markets, fun fairs, powerboat racing
