Bournemouth Pier
What an institution Bournemouth Pier is – originally built in 1861, a newer pier made of iron was opened in 1889, and the concrete construction that we see today was completed in 1981. Now home to the Pier Theatre and a very bright future Bournemouth Pier is in full swing with a superb line up for the summer season. The 2007 Summer Spectacular is an all singing and all dancing show starring Simmons and Simmons. With star guests and a hilarious modern, fast-moving variety show and in the true spirit of family entertainment – which is what the Pier is all about after all – children under five go free! Also punctuating the season will be other shows including the outrageous Freddie Starr every Sunday through August 2007 and also an appearance from Cannon and Ball on August the 6th 2007. Queen tribute ‘Magic’ a brilliant band perform the hits every Tuesday from July 24th until the end of August and commemorating the 30th anniversary of Elvis’s death Billy J McGregor brings the Elvis Collection to the Pier Theatre on the 13th, 20th and 27th August 2007. Another highlight is the regular fireworks display every Friday from July 27th until the 31st August 2007. The family, from the safe viewpoint of the pier, can watch the awesome spectacle and once again children under five go free! That makes for a great night out! The Theatre has a superb line up all year round – for more information of the seasonal features and guest stars call the box office on 01202 306126.
